Welcome Grovers to another installment of CotW! This week, the spotlight falls on the Spiderforest.com comic Ley Lines by Robin Dempsey. The comic deals with three siblings who are trying to solve the mystery behind their mother’s death. Along the way, seeking help from the gods, they discover that the help to save their family is not given without a price.

Robin started the comic back in January 2011 and it is updated Monday, Wednesday and Friday. It’s full of mystical and mythical imagery with lush colors and intricate backgrounds. The story flows rather nicely, so with the, so far, small archive, you shouldn’t have too much trouble catching up. Definitely worth a read and a bookmark, Grovers! Hi there Grovers! CotW continues with the Spiderforest.com comic Footloose by Ally & Em. This comic, currently on hiatus until the summer, which gives you plenty of time to wade through their extensive archive (the comic started way back in 2006!), is a fantasy anthro comic with quite a lot of characters drawn in a quasi-manga style.

Stop on by and take a dive into the story (as I said, there’s quite a lot) and catch up by the time they resume this summer and support my fellow Spiderforest.com creators.

Howdy Grovers! Time for another CotW! This week, the spotlight falls on the Spiderforest.com comic Precocious by Christopher J. Paulsen. It’s about four gifted children that attend Poppinstock Academy and they may just be too smart for their own good. They live in a community called Gemstone Estates and the neighborhoods are divided into names that reflect the community name.

The comic was started in 2009 and has already amassed quite an archive, but the strip reads pretty fast so you won’t have to devote months just to catch up. The writing is pretty charming and deals with family and community life in the close-knit town and serves as a quasi-biography for the artist/writer himself.
