Target Fail

In today’s Sunday ads for Target, they had a section for The Beatles Rockband for the XBox 360 along with a wireless guitar you could purchase to play along. Unfortunately, they failed miserably with the copy along side the guitar in question.

The mockguitar is not a Rickenbacker 325, it is most definitely a Hofner bass which Paul McCartney famously played for the band.

THIS is a Rickenbacker 325 (a Rickenbacker 325C64 to be exact, which John Lennon played in 1964 with The Beatles).

This is clearly a FAIL, Target!

    Holy crap! Are they blind? DUH! Of course that’s Paul’s bass… how old were the idiots at Target’s advertising agency? Like, 19? Oh, and Rickenbackers are the best guitars and really under-rated. I drool over the 4001 basses… ummm, Rickerbacker…. 🙂

    Super Mega Epic Fail – it has a Whammy Bar off a lead guitar. But the most egregious one if you are claiming “that’s Paul’s bass….” it’s right handed.

    McCartney plays Sinister! He’s a LEFTY!! It’s strung backwards and the controls aren’t accessible.

    Now I realize the gamers are mostly righties, but at least you make a lefty (or reversible) model available…
