WG 962 Breaking News
Yesterday, we hit a milestone…4 years ago, Willow’s Grove returned from a 3 year hiatus and we’ve been chugging along ever since. I’m really surprised I’ve lasted this long, actually. I’ve never sustained the comic for this long before and we’re really in uncharted territory for me. Sure, the comic has been around in one form or another since the 80’s, but it hasn’t had such a sustained run. At first, it was meant for syndication, but when that failed, I turned to the internet. The first attempt was for a few weeks in the early 90’s, the second, another few weeks in 1995, the third was for five months in 1997 and then the last run, before this one was from April 2003 to January 2005.
I’ve mentioned before that I had only intended the hiatus to last a few weeks, maybe two or three months, but the side project I worked on ended up lasting for the three years of the hiatus. When that project ended, I decided it was time to bring Willow’s Grove back and so, November 11, 2008, I did just that; Willow’s Grove had returned…and we’ve been here ever since.
Here’s hoping I can keep up the momentum without income generated. Somehow I doubt it, but you never know. Perhaps Willow’s Grove will catch a fan with deep pockets who would like to help kick it up a notch to the next level.
Big congrats on the milestone Karl, and glad I’ve been around for a decent clip of it. Also, oh crap, they can’t even move that thing without the tug, and heaven knows where the chimp crew is by now.
Congratulations for being able to keep it going. I’ve been reading for years as well. Good stuff.
congrats on the milestone – I’ve only been reading for a little over a year, but have been enjoying the story very much!
