Top Web Comics Voting

Friday, January 30th, 2009

Hi all. I just added a button over there under the tip jar for you to click and cast your vote for Willow’s Grove on the Top Web Comics page. The more clicks, the higher ranking I get. The higher ranking, the more exposure I get, and you all know how much I love to be exposed….oh wait, that sounds wrong. Anyway, Vote for me!

Buggy ComicPress Manager

Wednesday, February 4th, 2009

Be patient folks, the comics are still being published, but it seems the site keeps reverting back to the comic posted on the 30th of January. I upgraded the software and now it is acting buggy by showing the last comic published before the upgrade. If I go into my WordPress Dashboard, the right comic is showing. We’ll get this fixed yet!

A Week Before Friday the 13th Part I

Friday, February 6th, 2009

Hey! Are you as excited as I am? It is one week before the first of two months in a row with a Friday the 13th in it! Of course, they are releasing a new version of the movie series from the 80’s on it. Which really bugs me…the fact that Hollywood seems to have run out of new ideas or have turned a deaf ear on all the eager screenwriters out there trying to break into the biz. Instead we get loads of remakes of television series from when the powers that be in Hollywood were kids, or we get live action movies of the cartoons they watched on Saturday morning, or we get reboots of franchises that have hordes of manic fans that go ape shot over the changes (you know who I’m talkin’ ’bout Willis!….which yanno’, I am surprised they haven’t rebooted Diff’rent Strokes yet…). I’ve a cousin who is a screenwriter, but in all the movies I have seen recently, I have yet to see his name put up there in the credits. Let’s give him a break and use one of his ideas instead of rehashing (or should I say reslashing?….*laughs at his own pun* oh dear, *tear wipe*)films that are fine as they were and didn’t need rebooting/reinventing/reimagining for the ADD crowd. I think though, that this mentality came about from the very genre of movies that are being remade and released next friday. Hey, that last one knocked ’em dead, let’s make another and rake in the cash!

Here’s an idea…instead of making the title Friday the 13th, Part whatever Roman numeral inserted here, just write it out as an actual date! Friday the 13th, 2009….so when they have a sequel, Friday the 13th, 2450 sounds much better than Friday the 13th Part LXII…because, quite frankly, the ADD crowd will think they are going to see a sporting event and go only for the cool commercials.
